The highly-anticipated Beyond Sport United – backed by US important leagues MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL & WNBA – gathered on 9 August at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for what was an eventful day of networking, collaboration, and insightful discussion. I assume the most significant reason (apart from factors as guidelines and wining or losing) to qualify as a sport is its institutionalisations and (international) recognition. In certain, Suits considers, what appears to be, the substantial relationship in between games and sport. Certainly the entire point of strategic games (chess, go) is not that the goals are harder to acheive than is needed, but that there is a certain quantity of skill involved, and that such games are only enjoyable since of this. Second and ultimately, that which we call sport and that which we dismiss as a game or other activity, is dependent on agreement in language.
